    Product Description

    Deep south creole blend packs the flavours of the Mississippi Delta. Think Louisiana, Gumbo, Jamabalaya and barbecued steaks.

    Make a 20-minute Jambalaya by frying onion, celery and green pepper. Once soft add 2 tsp of Creole mix per portion. Fry off American rice in the mix before covering in chicken stock and simmering on low, covered until stock has absorbed. Leave to stand for 10 mins. This makes it a flavourful side for chicken and fish.

    Serve with a few dashes of Cayenne pepper sauce for an authentic experience.

    Prep & usage

    Ingredients for 4 One pouch of Spice Cartel's Deep South Creole Spice Mix 400g prawns. 280g basmati or long grain rice - rinsed. 1 large onion, diced fine. 1-2 large green bell peppers, diced fine. Same amount of celery as bell pepper, diced fine. 1 Chicken, veg or fish stock cube dissolved in 500ml boiling water to make stock. How to Cook Fry onions, green pepper and celery until starting to brown. Add rinsed rice and fry for a minute. Add 6 tsp of Deep South Creole spice mix and stir through. Add 500ml stock, bring to the boil, cover and reduce heat to low, leave to simmer for 10-15 minutes until rice is cooked before adding prawns and leaving to stand for 10 mins.
