The Teasmith Gin is the first premium Scottish gin distilled with hand-picked tea.

Our Story

We are a husband and wife team, Emma and Nick Smalley. We established the business in 2015 from a passion for gin! We made gin wedding favours for our own wedding in 2014 and from there decided to make our own.

We make the first Scottish gin to be distilled with tea, inspired by the rich history that Scotland has with the tea trade. Tea clippers were built at our local harbour and a young man from the region named James Taylor planted the first tea plantations in Sri Lanka - where we source our tea from. To taste the gin is a very classic, mid-strength juniper, with citrus tones and a sweet finish.

We won 6 brand awards for our unique and premium bottle design in 2017 and have since been awarded a double IWSC award (Silver and Bronze) for the spirit. Our biggest win to date was the 'Grand Prix' Scottish creative award where the head judge said:
"This took the grand prix without any debate. It was quite clearly the winner for all the judges. A beautifully simple idea that took its design cues from the name, product and brand heritage. It stood out above everything else from a design point of view, very important in a hugely saturated gin market and it made the choice of grand prix very straightforward. We are also currently onboard the Royal Yacht Britannia (served in their tea room!).
