Our Story

My name is Steve Scutt and Green Genie Spirits was inspired by my many travels to the Far East where I embraced Chinese and Japanese culture and explored the history of green tea. Never a day went by without me being offered green tea and the seed of an idea to use it as an ingredient in food and drink began whirring in my mind. Further travels also led to my passion for other diverse flavours from exotic ingredients traded on the Silk Road, fuelling my imagination further. Could combining these with green tea work in gin?

A few samples created around a kitchen table later, I found a local craft distiller, Blackbridge, on the Luton Hoo Estate to turn this magical idea into a delicious reality. After many combinations, we found our wonderful blend of botanicals sourced from the Silk Road routes and began infusing with green tea to create our citrus-forward Green Genie Gin. With this now perfected, my thoughts soon turned to a vodka and green tea infusion.
