Duchess Farms

Duchess Farms

We make our rapeseed oil on our family farm in Hertfordshire. Each year we start again. Another harvest, another chance to make Duchess Oil even better.

Our Story

Oscar Harding, a 6th generation farmer started in 2012. In 2012 Oscar was thinking about the relationship between farming and food. About how the gap between the two had grown. It was then that he thought about making a rapeseed oil that could be grown, harvested, bottled and pressed on the farm without the need for any unnecessary steps.

Our signature cold-pressed rapeseed oil is used in some of London's finest restaurants, however our RAW is a unique unfiltered oil which has been extremely popular as has our smoked oil.

At Duchess we try to operate a zero waste policy so the bi-product from the oil production is used as animal feed for a deer herd in Oxfordshire. The proceeds from this allow us to subsidise the cost of oil to all primary and secondary state schools in Hertfordshire, doing our small part against childhood obesity. Duchess has predominantly been a restaurant focussed product, used by some of the country's best chefs however any enthusiastic home cook will enjoy using it. We’re used by The Ledbury and Alyn Williams at The Westbury.
