Our Story

BeeRoots was founded from our passion for bees, honey, and the environment. What started out as a two-man and thousands-of-bees project has grown into something much bigger than us. We’re working hard to preserve natural ecosystems and wildlife while creating eco-friendly, cruelty-free, raw honey for environmentally conscious consumers.

The decline of bees is a global problem. They are facing many threats and the future for bees and other pollinators are becoming increasingly uncertain. Despite this decline, demand for honey remains high. To meet this demand, bee welfare is often neglected and unethical practices such as clipping the wings of the queen, feeding the bees with sugar and the culling of hives, are becoming prevalent.

That’s why, while many other businesses tend to focus on short-term profit, we focus on sustainability, the bees, and the environment. We only harvest excess honey and our bees are not fed with sugar, resulting in lower yield but higher quality honey and stronger bees. Our emphasis is on bee welfare and facilitating the natural behaviour of bees.

We’d like to think of ourselves as nature’s favourite brand of honey.
